The Water Street Bar and Grille in Sandusky, OH was a very pleasant eatery while waiting on the Jet Express headed for Put In Bay. We dined there twice and both times I’m proud to say that my experience was positive. Pictured above is the chicken quesadilla with a couple of half eaten pieces that we tried to put back in place so I could get a picture of the dish. Or I can just say it came out of the kitchen this way. Maybe the waitress got hungry. – Just kidding.
The corn salsa is what set it apart from other quesadillas and the portions are just right for an appetizer.
After ordering the quesadilla, we ordered two Margaritas. They were delicious as well. We sat on the outdoor patio over looking Lake Erie. The patio is slightly crowded but, in my opinion, well worth it. The service was good. There was only one time when we had to wait maybe 5 minutes longer than we wanted to for the waitress. In her defense, we were rushed to catch the boat.
The second trip to this restaurant was much of the same. Instead of getting a chicken quesadilla, we got a steak quesadilla. My only complaint was that in the center of the steak quesadilla they didn’t give us any extra corn salsa like they did in the photo above. It wasn’t a deal breaker, its just me being entree aware. I switched it up for drinks and ordered a Bloody Mary. It was fair, nothing outta this world knock me off my seat kinda drink. I had one with squeezed lime and one without. I do prefer without.
I’d recommend the Water Street Bar and Grille to all Sandusky, Ohio visitors. If you go there, tell me how your entrees were. I wish I would have had a chance to try one, but I’m betting they don’t disappoint. I can tell you though, that the views of Lake Erie, the presentation and taste of the chicken/steak quesadillas, the service, the alcoholic beverages, and the overall feel of the restaurant were all positive experiences for me. Check them out!
