New look, new start, let’s eat!
It has arrived.
The new look of Marlows Kitchen!
For those of you who have been following the blog, you may have noticed the lack of posting followed by sporadic posting and later followed by… no posting. Well, it happened. To what any other food blogger probably has ran into at some point: FOOD BLOG FATIGUE aka NEED A BREAK aka BURNOUT.
I grew tired of the idea of blogging every time I posted a recipe. It almost felt forced.
Enter ingredients, write recipe, and then figure out something to say about the recipe.. maybe a story?
Maybe some sort of life experience that I feel the need to post with the recipe?
I didn’t feel natural. It’s a food blog and why would anyone feel the need to read a sub par story that went along with a recipe? Who really cares?
That’s when I realized something about food blogging…
I hated it.
I don’t hate cooking and creating recipes. I don’t hate snapping photos and posting recipes. I hated feeling like that I needed to write something to tag along with every recipe. The feeling that I needed to tell a story. Why? Because everyone does it! It’s a food blog thing.
Well, no more!
I have officially decided that this will no longer be a food blog. I will no longer bore my followers with random stories within recipe posts. I will simply post recipes. That’s it.
So what does that make this site? A recipe portal? I don’t know.
All blog posts will be separate from recipe posts. No more having to scroll endlessly through ramblings to find the recipe.
So now what?
With the change in style, I felt the site needed a makeover. I wanted it to look less bloggy and more professional.
A redesign went into effect and here it is. The new Marlows Kitchen.
Not all recipes are in the new format and some may contain mundane ramblings within. But from here on, recipes will be recipes and blog posts will be blog posts.
