Back porch herb garden

herb garden

Its difficult to call this a garden because I just have two types of herbs growing. I’ll be experimenting with dill soon, but for now only oregano and basil survive the shadowy environment my back porch provides. Basil is my favorite herb so I may have went overboard with it this year, but you may as well enjoy it while you can right?

I have a large rectangular planter growing even more basil below.  Its not the best, as basil should have a 4-6 inch depth pot to grow in but I thought I could always transplant. We’ll see how that works out. Our back porch is simply a tiny apartment pad with a grill immediately to the left so there’s not much room to work with. I’d rather have a small herb garden than shell out 3 dollars each time I need some basil or oregano any day.
